2005 Advocacy Agenda of the SEG

At the January 27 & 28 Washington D.C. Conference, members of the Senior Executives Group met to plan its advocacy agenda for 2005. Among its top priorities, the SEG will continue to develop SAS 70 best practices, which would in effect, create a standard SAS 70 for asset managers. In addition, the SEG has identified at least eight other advocacy initiatives that will be addressed and/or monitored by the Group. These proposed 2005 agenda items include the following:

In regard to the SEG's plan to create an Asset Managers Division, the group has outlined its current organizational structure and drafted an illustration of the proposed Division.

As you will note in the link above, some 20 firms have been engaged in the Senior Executives Group. The Group anticipates that 40 to 50 asset management firms will establish themselves within The Bond Market Association.
