Proposed Advocacy Initiatives Group Meeting

Representatives of the Advocacy Initiatives Group of the proposed Asset Managers Division are slated to meet later in the month of May to discuss regulation relating to best execution and other matters. The leaders of the Advocacy Initiatives Group include: David Murphy (Fidelity Investments), Joint Buyside/Sellside Regulatory Developments; Stephen Francis (Fischer, Francis, Trees & Watts), Governmental Relations; and Jean-Pierre Mittaz (Goldman Sachs Asset Management), Buyside Regulatory Developments.

U.S. Treasury Workshop on Large Position Recordkeeping and Reporting Rules

The Department of the Treasury is offering a workshop regarding Treasury's Large Position Recordkeeping and Reporting Rules. This refresher course will provide an overview of the rules. The large position rules apply to all U.S. and foreign entities (with the exception of foreign official organizations and Federal Reserve Banks) that may control a large position in a specified Treasury security.


Two sessions will be offered:

May 20, 2005, 1:00 - 2:00 PM; and

May 20, 2005, 3:00 - 4:00 PM.


Location: The Federal Reserve Bank of New York (33 Liberty Street, Room 143, New York, NY 10045).


Who should attend: Representatives of asset management firms and other market participants that may potentially control a large position in a particular Treasury security. You may only attend one of these sessions. However, firms may send more than one individual to each session.

Register for AMF Bank Loan Workshop and Quarterly Meeting

The Asset Managers Forum will host two west coast/east coast events on May 16 and May 17 in Newport Beach, CA and New York City, NY.
