Avian Flu Preparedness Meeting

On Monday, July 10, The Bond Market Association and the Securities Industry Association are hosting a meeting with regulators and with representatives from the 14 major dealer firms to continue the dialogue on avian flu preparations. This meeting comes as a follow-up to the June 26 Avian Flu Exercise. On July 10, meeting attendees will discuss the Exercise and the strategies outlined by participating firms. In addition, firms will discuss specific problems in complying with regulatory requirements during a work-from-home business scenario, as well as proposed workarounds, an industry-wide Directory and possible regulatory relief considerations.

Later this summer, additional meetings will be held with asset management firms on the topic of avian flu preparedness.

AMD Roundtable on CDS Automation

Several members of the Asset Managers Division and dealers from the Senior Oversight Group ("SOG") have been invited to participate in a Roundtable discussion on July 12th with vendors on the future of CDS automation. During the Roundtable, Stuart McClymont of Deutsche Bank will offer a presentation on derivatives workflows developed by the SOG, which is designed to determine a road map to achieve steady state targets and future strategic architecture to support OTC Derivatives. The Roundtable will continue with a discussion moderated by James Wallin of AllianceBernstein among buy-side, sell-side and vendors on new CDS products being offered by vendors and how they plan to adjust to the new paradigm of processing derivatives through the electronic Warehouse.

AMD Meeting with ICI on July 18, 2006

Swaps Committee Members Requested to Attend

Based on discussions involving ICI and TBMA staff members, it is clear that mutual fund and asset management professionals share common interests regarding opportunities to identify and achieve enhanced operational efficiencies in the swaps markets -- both with respect to interest rate swaps and CDS. Operations professionals affiliated with AMF and AMD members will meet with their Investment Company Institute counterparts to assess common goals.

The main purpose of this first-of-its-kind buyside meeting is to assure a consistent approach by ICI and AMF/AMD in analyzing the efficacy of industry-wide swaps operations concerns. In particular, the two groups will discuss the status of any possible processing delays as well as benchmarks relating to the clearance and settlement of transactions involving derivative instruments. Members of the AMF Swaps Committee and related Subcommittees are encouraged to attend this important meeting. Contact Douglas Taggart of the staff of The Bond Market Association at dtaggart@bondmarkets.com to confirm your participation.

AMD & AMF Golf Outing on July 25, 2006

We cordially invite you and any of your guests to join the AMF & AMD members, individually or as a foursome, at our Annual Golf Outing to be held at Hollow Brook Golf Club in Cortlandt Manor, NY on July 25, 2006.

The outstanding growth of the AMF & AMD over the past several years has been largely attributed to the camaraderie that has developed not only between AMF & AMD members, but also among asset managers and broker-dealers, custodians, vendors and other members of the Wall Street community. This event is a continuation of that camaraderie, and a chance for you to network with colleagues at one of New York's most prestigious golf clubs.
