AMG Steering Committee Summer Meeting Agenda

The Asset Management Group of SIFMA will meet in California on August 1-2 to discuss the progress of its market practices and advocacy initiatives, which include:

--The development of fixed-income best execution guidelines.

--Progress by asset managers and custodians in derivatives automation initiatives.

--The development of a standard SAS 70 for asset managers.

--Following the development of "mutual recognition of regulatory regimes" by which the SEC might permit certain types of foreign financial intermediaries to provide services to U.S. investors under an abbreviated registration system.

--Discussing recently-raised global competitiveness issues.

The Asset Managers Forum will present an exposure draft of its Standard Fail Report form on Monday, July 23, 2007, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Following an industry review and comment period, the AMF would recommend a standard format by which broker/dealers and custodians could send fail reports to asset managers. Attend this Lunch & Learn event to hear about the details of the AMF proposal and how your firm can benefit from using a Standard Fail Report form. Asset Management Events in Boston - Save the Dates

The Asset Management Group and The Asset Managers Forum will host a three-day series of events in Boston, MA, on industry matters that have a bearing on the business activities of asset management firms.

September 18 - Save the Date for this AMG Conference, which will cover many of the items that are being addressed by SIFMA's AMG Steering Committee (see first article).

September 19 - Save the Date for a Workshop, which will cover many topics related to data management, both from the perspective of security master data and pricing data. Data management is relevant to a firm's operations functions, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. Discussion topics will include a range of items such as cost of market data, market data services, regulatory issues and limitations related to data management, rules from legal and compliance perspective, email retention, pricing and end of day pricing feeds, corporate actions, broader industry trends.

September 20 - Save the Date for the AMF Member Meeting, which is the business meeting that addresses the most recent operations issues and challenges that affects the buy side. Attend this meeting to learn how the AMF is addressing topics such as fails reporting, overdrafts, corporate actions and other operations matters.
