Asset Managers Division to Meet in Washington D.C.
Sen. Hagel to Address Group
The proposed Asset Managers Division of The Bond Market Association is scheduled to have its initial meeting on November 8, 2005 in Washington D.C. At this meeting, the Division will discuss its trade group agenda for 2006. This agenda will include the functional and organizational structure of the Division and its partnership with the AMF and the other Divisions of The Bond Market Association and the staff of the Association. Moreover, the group expects to begin the process of prioritizing industry-wide advocacy and market practices initiatives involving asset management firms.
Senator Chuck Hagel (R - NE) will be the guest speaker at dinner on November 8th. Senator Hagel serves on the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, which has a broad jurisdiction over the operation of our nation's financial institutions. In addition, Senator Hagel serves as the Chairman of the Securities and Investment Subcommittee of the above-mentioned Senate Banking Committee. The Senator will speak to items relating to legislation and the securities industry.
This meeting will be attended by representatives from the current 13 asset management firms that comprise the founding members of the AMD. Professionals associated with these founding firms will make up the Executive Committee of the new Asset Managers Division.
