Proposing Best Practices for SAS 70
Recently, senior executives at asset management firms began discussing the issues associated with SAS 70 compliance. Accordingly, several members of the AMF Senior Executives Group (also known as the COO Group) have developed a working draft document that will serve as a basis for developing best practices toward a standard SAS 70 for asset management firms. This proposed base document will be discussed at a Senior Executive Meeting in Boston on November 4, 2004.

1) Conference Call on Electronic Trading Platforms Survey
Each year, The Bond Market Association collects and publishes information on the development of electronic trading and related technologies in the U.S. and European fixed-income markets. Through this survey, TBMA is seeking information about both single-dealer and multi-dealer platforms. This year, TBMA is expanding its survey to include the opinions and views of investors and dealers as well as platform vendors.
Before the survey is published, the AMF invites industry comment on the Buyside Electronic Trading Platform Survey. Specifically, does the survey address the important information that you, the industry value? Please review the survey (link provided below) and offer your comments/input on a special purpose industry conference call. In addition to discussing the industry survey, participants on the conference call will receive a status update on any relevant regulatory actions regarding the hedge fund industry.
