AMG Chair John Gidman of Loomis Sayles Honored with Chairmen’s Achievement Award
Today, the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association concluded its three-day launch meeting in Boca Raton, Florida. This was the first formal meeting of the newly-created SIFMA which is the result of the merger of the Securities Industry Association and The Bond Market Association. At the SIFMA launch meeting, AMG Chair John Gidman was one of the honorees to receive the Chairmen’s Achievement Award.
John Gidman, President, Loomis Sayles Solutions, L.L.C., and Executive Vice President and Director, Loomis, Sayles & Company, L.P. worked tirelessly in developing The Bond Market Association’s Asset Managers Division and serving as its Chair. As Chair of the Asset Managers Division, Gidman has led its work on important initiatives including improving derivatives processing, industry-wide straight through processing, best execution, pension reform and mark-up rules. Under SIFMA, Mr. Gidman will serve as the Chair of the Asset Management Group (“AMG”).
SIFMA Co-Chairman Ed Forst of Goldman Sachs recognized the accomplishments of all the recipients and went on to state that “the Association’s efforts are so successful because of the dedication of so many volunteers.” Congratulations to John Gidman and the other awardees on achieving this well-noted distinction.
